Mobolaji Oriola is a Lawyer, Chartered Arbitrator, Investor & Humanitarian. He is a Founding Partner at Allen & Brooks, where he provides legal & business advisory services to individuals, businesses, companies and multinationals. Mobolaji is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Institute of Chartered Arbitrators and an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Business School.

In addition to his role as a Founding Partner of the firm, he currently serves as the Deputy Secretary, International Commercial Arbitration Committee, International Law Association (Nigerian Branch). He also serves as Vice-Chairman of a privately-owned proprietary investment and asset management company. He is also a Member, Board of Trustees and President of The Riverwood Switch Foundation; a non-profit, developmental organization focused on providing free education and infrastructural development to financially disadvantaged children and schools in low-income communities across Nigeria.  

Over the years, Mobolaji has gotten legal training and work experience from firms and companies like Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Company, Aluko & Oyebode, SPA Ajibade & Co and Perchstone & Graeys. Mobolaji’s extensive experience includes advising several top-tier Nigerian, international and multinational clients on matters relating to Energy and Natural Resources, Technology, Finance, IP, Entertainment, Real Estate, Arbitration, and Business Strategy. Mobolaji served as a member of the joint team of legal consultants appointed by the Debt Management Office (DMO) to advise on the restructuring of Nigeria’s huge debt profile. He also served on the legal advisory team which handled the the issuance of a N25 Billion asset backed commercial notes by a Funding SPV. Mobolaji alongside a team of arbitrators represented three oil and gas companies over a financial dispute worth N1.7 billion naira. Mobolaji has appeared in several court cases and won his first solo appearance at the Court of Appeal. 

He is currently advising one of Nigeria’s leading Fintech companies (Risevest) on all legal and regulatory matters as they interface with the CBN, SEC and other key regulatory bodies. He currently serves as Legal Adviser to Tranter-It, an ICT infrastructure services and solutions company. He is also advising a UK based investment holding company on its 1.2 billion Naira real estate financing scheme for the development of the largest auto-hub in West Africa.

Mobolaji Oriola is a recipient of Unity Bank’s Humanitarian Award and Professor Smaranda Leadership Award. He is also a nominee for The Future Awards Africa Prize for Lawyers.  Mobolaji is a published author/writer with his thought pieces and articles published in several national and international platforms.
